"A few days prior to his disappearance, a fight broke out between a number of people which Ali was involved in. Among the people fighting was a Syrian officer that was shot in the course of this scuffle.
Since Ali was not the person who shot the officer, he did not try to flee or to hide after the incident. He continued to sleep in his house like he always has.
A few days later, on the night of September 25th, 1989, a group of Syrian intelligence officers went to Ali's house and took him. That night was the last night Ali was ever seen."
