Lebanon
The conflict between the border militias, supported by Israel, and the PLO and their Lebanese allies continued throughout 1977, with several attacks and counter-attacks—all resulting in civilian casualties. Meanwhile, the Israel military sustained its deadly air raids, leading to a full-fledged military operation. In November 9–11, 1977 and in response to rockets launched from South Lebanon, the Israeli Army carried out an air and sea attack of the Lebanese coast, in particular Sour, and destroyed the village of Azziyeh. It also heavily bombed the town of Nabatieh and the villages of Yarin and Khiyam. More than 100 civilians were killed.
