In 1980, Najib happened to finish work early. He decided to visit his sister who lived alone in Bhamdoun Aley after the death of their parents. Najib’s son Elias was in the army and was serving at that time in the Ministry of Defense in Yarzeh. Najib passed by his son’s work and told him he was going to his sisters and that he might be staying at her house for a couple of days. After meeting with his son, Najib was off to Bhamdoun. After being away from his family for two or three days, Najib decided to head back home. He took a taxi from Bhamdoun and somewhere along the way back he was stopped at a checkpoint and kidnapped.
